Stuck in the Middle is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 1999.
Synopsis[edit]
- Homer takes an elevator ride with the Old Jewish man.
Plot[edit]
At the Springfield Retirement Castle, Homer gets in the elevator, where the Old Jewish man is the attendant. He tries to make small talk with Homer, but Homer asks him if they could not talk to each other. The Old Jewish man then says that the elevator has gotten stuck again, and he flips the emergency switch. Unfortunately, that doesn't work, so the Old Jewish man tells Homer that he has to wait for people to rescue them. Homer starts to panic because he's trapped with an old man, and the Old Jewish man decides to entertain Homer by pulling his pants down and singing "If You Knew Susie". Homer screams, which draws the attention of a Retirement Castle nurse who asks what the commotion coming from the storage closet is, then realizes that the Old Jewish man has been flipping the fuse switches on and off. Homer hugs Marge and is grateful that he got out of there alive, and Marge tells him he was only in there for two minutes.
