Give Me Lima Beans or Give Me Death! is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 2000.
Synopsis[edit]
- Lisa starts a protest when she finds the vegetarian options in the school cafeteria lacking.
Plot[edit]
At lunch at Springfield Elementary, the meat option is cow fingers while the vegetarian option is salad. Lisa gets her salad, only to find that it's made of pickle slices and a parsley sprig. Lisa decides to take her vegetarian cause to the people, as Lunchlady Doris sounds the code green alarm to the Springfield Cattle Commission. Lisa rallies a mob of hippies and vegetarians to protest for decent vegetarian options on the lunch menu. To stop the mob, Mayor Quimby rallies a counter-protest of meat lovers. Lisa tells Quimby that all she wants is a decent vegetarian option at school. Quimby agrees to this if she calls off her mob.
Back at school, Lisa finds that the vegetarian option is now also listed as cow fingers. She is surprised by this, but Lunchlady Doris tells her that there's not actually any meat in cow fingers and there never has been. When Lisa starts to question this, Doris tells her that she doesn't want to know.
