Smithers Gets Burns a New Spoon is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 2000.
Synopsis[edit]
Plot[edit]
Mr. Burns tries to crack his egg with a spoon, but is unsuccessful. He tells Smithers that the spoon is as weak as a baby and he wants a fresh one made at once. Smithers decides to make Burns a spoon from the lightest yet strongest metal alloy available and steals Captain McCallister's new titanium foot. Smithers then gets a nineteenth-century orphan to mold the spoon from the titanium. He then has a Swiss artist finish the spoon so that Burns' reflection would be more forgiving. Finally, Mr. Burns demands all his possessions to have historical importance, so Smithers has someone sign an international treaty with the spoon. Smithers finally returns home with the spoon only to find Mr. Burns using his egg mallet to crack it open.
