Nana Sophie Mussolini is Milhouse's grandmother.

History[edit]

She is Italian from Tuscany and despises the English language because, during World War II, an American G.I. left her pregnant with Milhouse's uncle, Bastardo. Milhouse spent two weeks every summer with Nana Sophie in Tuscany, where she used to whip him whenever he spoke English instead of Italian. As a result, Milhouse became fluent in Italian and was able to teach it to Lisa.^[1]

In a story told by Lisa, "Nana" appeared on Milhouse's revenge list.^[2]

She was in Shelbyville when she gave birth to Milhouse's mother.^[3]

Milhouse told Bart that his "grammy" lives in Omaha, which might refer to her, although it could also refer to Milhouse's paternal grandmother or his paternal grandfather's new wife.^[4]
