Groundskeeper Bart is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 2001.

Synopsis[edit]

Bart is sentenced to a drastic detention, working after school with Groundskeeper Willie for a week.

Plot[edit]

Principal Skinner tells Bart off for using the sand blaster for a prank. He tells Bart that there will be a drastic detention for him and that for the next week, he'll be working after school with Groundskeeper Willie.

On Monday, Bart mops the floor using a cleaning mixture of borax and tile cleaner, which gives him a headache. On Tuesday, Bart scrapes gum from under desks. On Wednesday, he dusts the books in the school library. On Thursday, he unclogs a filthy toilet. And on Friday, he has to clean up puke from children after lunch. At the end of his punishment, Marge picks Bart up. Bart tells her that he'll quit slacking off and be good; he just doesn't ever want to become a janitor. Willie is pleased for setting Bart on a different path because it means he has job security.
