Phony McRing-Ring is the mascot for the phone company in a movie put out by the Springfield phone company and Lindsay Naegle to explain why Springfield now has two area codes. Despite being fictional he claims that he is in fact the president of the Springfield telephone company.

The film in which Phony stars is rather cheap: at one point, his nasal voice is replaced by a clearly different male voice, while the frame freezes.
