School Holiday Boredom is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 2001.
Synopsis[edit]
- Bart becomes bored on the second day of school holidays because Marge won't let him watch television, so he decides to bother Lisa.
Plot[edit]
It's the second day of half-term holidays, and Bart is bored because Marge won't let him watch television. Lisa tells Bart that she's spending the holiday trying out career ideas, such as "Crusading Civil Rights/Environmental Lawyer," and operating a model, communal, organic farm with a solar-powered tractor. Lisa goes on to say that it will be tough to find a way to make a fair profit and offer free daycare, but that's what the half-terms are for. She then asks Bart what he's planning on doing for his half-terms. Bart suggests that he could try out the career of "slot jockey," gambling on slot machines. When Lisa points out that he's too young, Bart suggests being a short-order cook. Lisa tells Bart that he can't cook. Bart then suggests becoming a fiendish-but-lovable conman, but Lisa tells him that it is illegal. Finally, Bart suggests that he could be a top-gun crop duster and lies on top of Lisa's farm dome, which annoys Lisa.
Later, Homer and Bart are watching television together. Homer says that he thought Marge said he couldn't watch television, and Bart tells him that Lisa talked her out of it. Homer says that Lisa will become a great lawyer someday.
