Grampa told Bart that in his days, comic books cost a penny and that the day he pays $5 for a comic book is the day he pays $1,000 for a new car. Bart then asks Grampa for $5 for a new car, but Grampa sees through this scam, and says that he invented it back in 1939, and then gets lost in his story. He then notices Bart again, and is startled. Bart then asks for $5 for a comic book again and Grampa gives it to him.

Synopsis

Bart asks Grampa for $5 to buy a comic book.

Plot

Bart asks Grampa for $5 to buy a comic book. Grampa tells him that when he was a kid, comic books only cost a penny. He then says that the day he pays five bucks for a comic book will be the day he pays a thousand dollars for a new car. Bart then asks for five dollars to buy a new car, but Grampa sees through this and says that he knows five dollars can't buy a new car. He then says that he invented the scam Bart just tried to use back in 1939 and starts to reminisce about the old days. Grampa then snaps back to the present and asks Bart what he wants. Bart tells him he wants five dollars for a comic book, and Grampa gives him the money.
