Cost of Living is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 2000. It was also available via the Simpsons Store app. The story is a remake of The High Cost of Giving from Bart Simpson's Joke Book.

Bart asks Grampa for $5 to buy a comic book. Grampa tells him that when he was a kid, comic books only cost a penny. He then says that the day he pays five bucks for a comic book will be the day he pays a thousand dollars for a new car.
