[[Homer]] visiting [[Moe's]] where he drinking and party with his friends. When he comes home tell [[Marge]] to him that she has joined a book club and she thinks he should dotea something educated instead of drinking at Moe's all night. Marge is on the book club and they start talking about the books but having soon running out of topics and start drinking some wine and having fun instead. They ending up in jail, and their men pick them up and Homer asks Marge what she thinking about her book-thing and she answer it was educated.

Marge Joins a Book Club is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story that was first published in 2001.

Synopsis[edit]

Marge joins a book club with some of the women of Springfield. However, they quickly bring out the wine instead.

Plot[edit]

After a night out drinking at Moe's Tavern, Homer comes home and tells Marge that he shouldn't have done those body shots with Carl. Marge asks him to be quiet as she's trying to read Memoirs of a Geezer. Marge explains to Homer that she joined a book club to expand her cultural awareness and tells Homer that he should do something educational instead of spending all night at Moe's drinking.

At the book club, all the women say very little about the book and quickly become bored. Luann brings out a crate of Sutter Sheds wine. All the women get drunk, and several hours later, they end up getting arrested. Homer goes to bail out Marge and asks her how the book club went. Marge glumly says that it was very educational.
