He is shown to be the brother of Charles Montgomery Burns. When Mr. Burns left his parents at a young age, they commented that at least they would still have George.[1]

After losing the role of Fallout Boy, Bart lamented that he had missed the greatest opportunity of his life and quoted George Burns, saying that show business was a "hideous bitch goddess." Lisa then encouraged him to remain loyal to Milhouse, prompting Bart to resolve to ingratiate himself with his friend.[2]

He is also one of the many people on "Ned's List of Laudable Lefties".[3]
