Dr. Haing S. Ngor was Cambodian and American actor.
History
An Academy Award statuette originally awarded to Dr. Haing S. Ngor was in Homer Simpson's possession. Homer had crossed out Ngor's name and replaced it with his own before later attempting to dispose of the statuette after expecting to win the Springfield bowling championship trophy.
Behind the Laughter
In the original airing of this episode, Homer's Academy Award said Dr. Haing S. Ngor, but, when Ngor died, it was changed to Don Ameche. The second version is the one in syndication and in the Season 7 DVD boxset.
