Ringo Starr is an English musician who is most famous for being the drummer of The Beatles.

History[edit]

While he was a member of The Beatles, Ringo met Krusty the Clown.[1]

When Marge was in high school, she had an interest in art and a schoolgirl crush on Ringo, which led her to paint many pictures of him, including several of herself and Ringo together. When her art teacher saw her drawing a sketch of Ringo and criticized her, she sent Ringo a letter and one of the portraits she had painted of him, asking for his honest opinion of the painting. When she got no reply, she gave up her interest in art. Years later, Ringo was determined to answer every piece of fan mail he had ever received, and he came across the letter and painting from Marge. In his reply, Ringo said that he liked the picture and had immediately hung it on his wall. He also said, in answer to her question, that "we do have hamburgers and fries in England, but we call French fries 'chips'." He then asked her to forgive the lateness of his reply. Ringo's reply was fortuitously timed: Marge was in a rut on her current art project (painting a portrait of Mr. Burns), and Ringo's reply inspired her to finish it.[2] One of Marge's portraits of Ringo later appeared at a swap meet.[3] Another was seen in the Simpsons' attic.[4]

Bart and Lisa degraded Sideshow Bob by comparing him to the mastermind of Birch Barlow, calling him "Ringo to his rest of the Beatles."[5]

When investigating whether Marge was insane, the medical team asked if she had ever had an unhealthy fixation on Ringo Starr. She answered that it was healthy as he had reciprocated.[6]

Footage of The Beatles was shown off in the documentary Salt You Need Is Love by Peter Jackson. In the footage, The Beatles talked about drinking water and umbrellas.[7]

He was also one of the many people on "Ned's List of Laudable Lefties".[8]
