During "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular", Troy McClure explained that Matt Groening could not produce the series by himself. At Groening's insistence, the special paused to acknowledge the hard work of everyone who made The Simpsons possible by displaying the names of the many people involved in its production, including Hank Azaria.[3]

Behind the Laughter

In reality, Hank Azaria voiced Marshall Goldman and is the voice of many others characters on The Simpsons.

Marshall Goldman is a parody of Mitch Albom and his bestseller memoir Tuesdays with Morrie, which was adapted into a television movie starring Hank Azaria as Mitch Albom.

The poster for The Happy Little Elves Movie is a reference to The Smurfs film, which starred Hank Azaria as Gargamel.
