Poco is an American country rock band.
History[edit]
After Principal Seymour Skinner reported concerns about the Simpson children, authorities inspected the Simpson home and noted several conditions they regarded as indicators of neglect, including piles of old newspapers, one of which contained an article with the headline "40 Trampled at Poco Concert."
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The headline alludes to the tragedy at a 1979 concert by The Who in Cincinnati, where 11 fans died after being crushed in a crowd surge outside the venue. It acts as a satirical, dark joke, since the country-rock band Poco was generally known for being laid-back and having a much older, smaller, or calmer fanbase.
