Noah Webster was an American author, lexicographer, and politician. In USA Webster's name has become synonymous with "dictionary."

History

Homer taught an adult education class using a Noah Webster dictionary as his reference.[1]

On the graduation ceremony day at Hellroads school in Hell, the principals read out a prepared speech, stating that Webster defines success before pointing out chained-up Noah Webster in the crowd. After Webster asked why he was there, the reply "You changed the "R-E" to "E-R" in "theater," I hate that!" was given.[2]
