When Thaddeus Subway presented his idea of an elevated train under the ground to Cornelius Vanderbilt, he said he required no crystal ball to see that the idea would never work.

The character is based on the real-life Cornelius Vanderbilt, who was an American business magnate and is often described as a "robber baron." His name was revealed in the dub credits for the episode on Disney+.
