Neil Gaiman is a successful children's fantasy author. He helped Homer and his team write a book.
History[edit]
After overhearing Homer and his team discussing ideas for a children's fantasy novel at Bookaccino's, he asks if he can be a part of it. They accept.
During the process of writing the book, he helps the writers stay on track. At one time, he gives them all drinks, except for Moe, who he electrocutes with a taser.
They eventually finish the story, entitling it The Troll Twins of Underbridge Academy. Gaiman mentions how proud he is of the group, but Bart complains that he didn't write any bit of the story. Neil then explains that he was making tuna salad the whole time.
They then take the story to the Springfield Book Fair, to TweenLit Inc.. After finding a fake author (Lisa), at their request, they finally published the book, and celebrated at Moe's Tavern. When they find their book has been totally changed, they decide to fight back. They then perform a heist on the TweenLit Inc. World Headquarters. Neil Gaiman serves Bart and Homer drinks. When they are caught, Moe suspects Neil of betraying them.
Later, when Lisa explains that what she did, having printed the original book, she says it's lucky she's still on the back flap, but is shocked to see Neil Gaiman's face on the back, thus having actually betrayed them. Gaiman is lying on a chair on Shelbyville Beach. He then admits to himself, that the best part is that he can't read.
Later, Moe comes to Neil, in scuba diving equipment, and calls him "partner". When Moe drinks his drink and questions why Gaiman isn't drinking, he tells Moe that he doesn't "like the taste... of poison".[1]
Neil Gaiman attended a night cruise in Springfield[2] and he was seen in the audience for Tabitha Shingle's live recording of her podcast Interminable.[3]
Neil Gaiman visited The Android's Dungeon where he told Comic Book Guy that the kids reminded him of when he was their age and he couldn't wait to read the newest issues of his favorite comics.[4]
Neil Gaiman is element Ng in Lisa's Table of Geeky Delights.[5]
