Season 17 is the seventeenth broadcast season of The Simpsons. It originally ran on Fox from September 11, 2005, with "The Bonfire of the Manatees", to May 21, 2006, with "Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play". The season was mostly made up of production season HABF episodes, with seven rollover episodes from production season GABF also airing. Al Jean served as the showrunner for the season.

In "I've Grown a Costume on Your Face", a witch turns everyone in Springfield into their costumed characters, and Maggie, being dressed as a witch, is the only one who can break the spell.
