In his youth, Homer performed as a one-man band under the name Archie Bell and the Drells. One day, he stood outside a pizza restaurant with a guitar, ready to showcase his new song, "Tighten Up." When he began playing, his performance caused everyone to leave the area. Nearby, Giuseppe, an organ grinder, scolded Homer for scaring off his customers and ordered his monkey, Pepe, to "go for the face." The monkey complied, leaping at Homer, who fell over in a panic and screamed as Pepe attacked him.
