Character Information
|
Nabil is a Persian musician who wrote Uma Shang Shang: The Flower Song.
History[edit]
While the Simpsons walked through a rundown, nearly deserted Springfield Mall, they came across a store that used to be a JCPenney's. The store was abandoned however, and in its place was a number of candle kiosks and Persian CD stores. A Persian man then walks up to the Simpsons and tries to sell them "the latest by Nabil," a CD which contains the song "Uma Shang Shang", which the shop keeper says is "like Bruce Springsteen, The Boss." Homer agrees to buy the CD when the man offers to throw in some free toothache cream.
The cover of Nabil's CD depicts a man (presumably Nabil) standing in a grassy field, while holding a bouquet of flowers in his right hand and a burning American flag in his left.
