R.E.M. are a rock band.
History
Homer managed to get them to perform in his bar when Moe kicked his regulars out. They performed "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)". Homer told them it was a benefit concert to get them to perform and they thought that they were saving the rain forest.
Mike Mills had to pee but couldn't with Lenny watching him. After Homer reveals that it is a hunting club, Michael Stipe realizes Homer lied and tries to kill him with a broken bottle. They then recycle the shards of glass and get out of there.
R.E.M. later come to thanksgiving dinner at Moe's Tavern after Lisa invites them. Homer apologizes and the band supply a tofu turkey.
