History[edit]
When Bart turned up the heat in the house as a prank on Homer, several vinyl records melted from the heat, including one by Leo Sayer.[1]
A Springfield Flight School employee mentioned Leo Sayer as another singer he liked, after Elvis Presley.[2]

The album seen in the episode recreates the cover of Endless Flight, one of Sayer's most successful albums.
