Monorail is the ninety-eighth content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It started on August 11, 2015 and ended on September 15, 2015. It introduced the Springfield Monorail to the game.

Project Board[edit]

The Project Board allowed players to turn in resources gathered at the recycling depots for event currency. There was a daily cap on how much currency could be obtained each day.

The Rail Yard is a permanent addition that allows players to trade in resources from recycling depots for Blueprints. The prize track rotates out every Tuesday.

• A new strip of land was added at the bottom of the map and on the right.
• The ambience music was changed to a new one for the event.
• The app icon and splash screen were changed to new ones for the event.
• Springfield Heights upgradable buildings are no longer storable temporarily due to a glitch that allowed duplication and reset their level to 1.
• The icons to hide roads, pavements, water, characters, buildings and decorations now have an icon to open and close their menu, and they were moved upwards instead of going left, and a new icon was added to hide Monorail items.
• A new icon has been added to the pavement, road and water icons, for Monorail Tracks.
• Vandalizing friend towns' buildings was reactivated.
• ZiffCorp Office Building, Indoor Tennis Courts, Ghost Pirate Airship, It Blows, Springfield Slaughterhouse, Springfield YMCA, Waverly Hills Elementary, The Castle of Equalia, All Seeing Eye, Blarney Castle, Burns State Prison, Superior Squad HQ, National Bank of Springfield, Death Mountain, Crap Silo, Tar Pits, Botanical Garden, Radstation Air Fortress, Monsarno Research, Outdoor Opera Stage, Minimum Security Prison, Museum Of Swordfish, Republican Party HQ, Radioactive Man Statue, Bartman Cave, Ancient Burial Ground, Present Depot, Elf Home, Toy Workshop, Spruce Caboose and Elf Cave were added to the Pays Taxes buildings group.
• The unreleased House Always Wins Pt. 1 now auto starts instead of requiring Homer to start.
• The Mutant Rabbit doesn't stop the game anymore once it starts or finishes a job.
• Building the Spruce Caboose now yields 85 instead of 60.
• Random tasks are not working properly showing negative numbers for how many times they've been completed.
• The text when collecting $, XP, currency, etc. from items and jobs disappear faster.
• The town landing point was moved to the Project Board.
• The Daily Combo was changed so in Day 5 the reward is currency for the prizes.
• Teleporter Alpha and Omega can now be used in friend towns.
• A new group has been added to the inventory for Monorail.

August 11 update 2 ("4_16_Monorail_Patch1_PostLaunch")[edit]

• Fixed Conductor Homer's crash after starting Train of Fools.

August 27 Update (4.16.5;"4_16_Monorail_Patch2_1_PostLaunch")[edit]

• Deluxe Condo, Business Center, Classic Mansion and Modern Mansion can now be stored again.
• A new Get Help button was added to the Cannot Connect to Server screen. If tapped, though, a white empty page opens up.

September 8 Update ("4_16_OldJewishMan_Patch1_PostLaunch")[edit]

• Fixed the glitch giving out Monorail Prizes again everytime a user logs in once the Rail Yard was unlocked and the second week of the Rail Yard prizes started.
• Fixed the Monorail Build menu not working if the above glitch was active.
• Uriah's Heap Recycling Center, Rail Yard, Monorail Station, Tetanus Terminal and Mall-O-Rail Station are no longer unique.
• For those that started the quest "Ahead of the Track" before the update, it reset to requiring 2000 Bells and Whistles (or will reset to 2000 the next time it's completed). After completing it once, it advances normally by 1000 more everytime.
