Dorothea Chaplet

Character Information
|
Dr. Dorothea Chaplet is a child therapist at Aubrey Medical Plaza. She specializes in ecological melancholy.
History[edit]
When Mr. Burns destroyed the only living plant to grow in Springfield, Lisa became depressed. Homer and Marge talked to each other about Lisa feeling down, and Dr. Chaplet approached them, having overheard the exchange. She told them that she was a child therapist who specialized in ecological melancholy, and she wanted to help Lisa. Homer and Marge then took Lisa to Aubrey Medical Plaza for a therapy session.
Dr. Chaplet decided to use EMDR stimulators for Lisa, giving her two tappers to hold, which then pulsed gently, helping the brain process negative thoughts. Lisa was skeptical about the tappers working, but then dreamed that she went back in time to the 1920s, where she met a younger Mr. Burns, or "Monty B" as he went by at that time. When Lisa came back around, Dr. Chaplet told Lisa to take the tappers home and write down her dreams in a dream diary. Homer then entered the room, complained about the cost of parking, and demanded that Dr. Chaplet give him the money to cover it.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Dr. Dorothea Chaplet is named and designed after and Dorothea "Dodo" Chaplet, one of the companions for the First Doctor in Doctor Who.[1]
