The Philadelphia Flyers are an American ice hockey team.

History

The Flyers were thanked for their work on the film The Poke of Zorro.

The starting line of the 1976 Flyers were part of the Devil Flanders's hand-picked Jury of the Damned, and were the only jury members who frightened the Simpsons.

Gritty, their mascot, is one of Homer's choices for his new body on Earth.

Gritty appears in Slick manager's office as one of the people he managed.

• The Philadelphia Flyers are a real ice hockey team.
• The 1976 Flyers' appearance on the Jury of the Damned is a reference to the Flyers in the mid-1970s being notorious for their physical style of play.
