Ivan Turgenev was a Russian novelist, short story writer, poet, playwright and translator.

He wrote a book in a collection of Russian authors that Sam Monroe's family owned.[1]

Ivan Turgenev's book Fathers and Sons was one of the books that Homer read to figure out how to parent Bart better. Bart later used it as part of his Rube Goldberg machine to prank Homer.[2]
