He was one of the teachers who expressed discontent and protested against Principal Skinner's miserly spending on school supplies and activities.[1] He also panicked when Principal Skinner informed the faculty that all the Teacher's Edition textbooks had been stolen.[2]

He was among the Springfield Elementary School staff members present when Principal Seymour Skinner announced that the school had lost access to its oil revenue due to Mr. Burns' slant-drilling operation.[3][4]
