Season 25 is the twenty-fifth broadcast season of The Simpsons. It originally ran on Fox from September 29, 2013, with "Homerland", to May 18, 2014, with "The Yellow Badge of Cowardge". The season was mostly made up of production season SABF episodes, with six rollover episodes from production season RABF also airing. Al Jean served as the showrunner for most of the season, with Matt Selman serving as the showrunner for SABF05, SABF10, and RABF21.

Production[edit]

Shortly before the season's second episode, the show was renewed for a twenty-sixth season.[1] The first table read for the season was on March 7, 2013.[2] This season premiered on September 29, 2013 with the episode "Homerland" and ended on May 18, 2014 with "The Yellow Badge of Cowardge".

No new episodes from this season aired during February 2014 due to the transmission of the Super Bowl XLVIII, The 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, the 2014 Daytona 500 in Florida and the 86th Academy Awards.[3] But the show returned on March 9, 2014.[3]
