Doctor Who is a long-running British sci-fi show. It has run since 1963 and new series are still made. Matt Groening claims to be a fan of Doctor Who. The show has often been referenced in The Simpsons, usually with the Fourth Incarnation of The Doctor appearing, as portrayed by Tom Baker.

As he leaves the restaurant pushing the wheelbarrow, he says, "This should provide adequate sustenance for the Doctor Who marathon." 10 212 "Mayored to the Mob" Tom Baker appears in costume at Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con, along with the TARDIS. 11 230 "Treehouse of Horror X" Comic Book Guy, under the guise of The Collector, has the Doctor concealed in plastic, along with many other "geek" show characters. He introduces the Doctor as "Doctor Who", the character's common nickname. 15 328 "Co-Dependent's Day" In the Galactic Senate in Cosmic Wars: The Gathering Shadow, two Daleks can be seen. 15 330 "My Big Fat Geek Wedding" The Doctor can be seen at the Comic-Con. 18 391 "Springfield Up" Homer mistakes Declan Desmond for the Doctor, when stating "Check with me in 8 years, Doctor Who, I'll be kicking your ass with a golden boot!". 19 407 "Husbands and Knives" Comic Book Guy says: "Nice work, Doctor Boo-hoo". 23 489 "Treehouse of Horror XXII" The vortex Bart traverses is similar to Doctor Who's time vortex. 495 "Holidays of Future Passed" The robot policemen are very similar to the Daleks. 503 "Them, Robot" The robots smash through the glass room and surround Mr. Burns and Homer in similar fashion to the Cybermen in the Doctor Who episode "Rise of the Cybermen". 24 520 "Love Is a Many-Splintered Thing" The TARDIS appears in the movie Love, Indubitably. Alfred Hitchcock then comes out of it. 25 540 "Married to the Blob" Milo mentions that he re-ranked all the Doctor Who's by the puffiness of the hair. 25 542 "Diggs" Two of the names on Diggs' arm cast are the TARDIS and Dalek #7. 26 556 "Treehouse of Horror XXV" During "A Clockwork Yellow", one of the "nasties" put into the hat is "Tell Each 'Doctor Who' They're the Worst". 29 620 "Springfield Splendor" The TARDIS is seen at Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con. 32 691 "Three Dreams Denied" Comic Book Guy mentions having the chance to rub elbows with the who's who of Doctor Who. 34 736 "Step Brother from the Same Planet" Calvin has a TARDIS on his pajamas. 35 759 "Murder, She Boat" A green version of the TARDIS is seen on the Pacific Princess Leia. Several incarnations of The Doctor play pickleball together.

Simpsons Comics #225 Small-Time Travelers When Lisa says that the house is as big as a time machine, Bart says that it's a house that flies through time and space, a reference to the TARDIS. Bart also has a "sonic laser gun" that can fix anything, a reference to the sonic screwdriver. Later, Professor Frink's Frinkomatic Chrono-Corrector is also a parody of the TARDIS. The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Hoodoo Voodoo Brouhaha Comic Book Guy's Best Costumes Ever - Part 1 Comic Book Guy dresses up as The Doctor, consisting of costume parts from various Doctors at Who-Con 1993. Simpsons Winter Wingding The Simpsons Winter Wingding #5 One Flu Over Springfield When Comic Book Guy takes a plane to get away from the flu epidemic in Springfield, he tells his seatmate that he'll try to refrain from reciting dialogue from the Doctor Who episodes he'll be watching during the flight. Simpsons Comics One-Shot Wonders Bartman Spectacularly Super Secret Saga #3 The Once and Future Bartman Part Three: Together Again for the First Time The TARDIS is seen when Bartman and Houseboy travel back in time. Chief Wiggum's Felonious Funnies #1 Future Cop! In Chief Wiggum's dream of being a cop in the future, he is called on to put down a riot at the space jail. A Dalek is among the crowd of rioters.

Games

Picture Game Reference The Simpsons: Tapped Out Database says "Gaaah! By Dr. Who's Tardis, I'm back!" once unlocked. In the Superheroes update, Comic Book Guy, dressed as The Collector, mentions his "Dr. Who" Sonic Screwdriver. In the Thanksgiving 2018 update, Homer says "I tried using them in a payphone to see if I could travel back in time like Bill & Ted, but instead I just traveled back in time like stupid Doctor Who." referring to the Golden Tokens from Black Friday.
