- "Learn a secret of Flanders' past and discover a never-before-seen room."
Plot[edit]
It's Christmas in Springfield, and the Simpson family are decorating the tree. Maggie tries to eat a Christmas bauble but Bart stops her and she gives it to the cat, and he notices a decoration saying "Todd's first Christmas". That starts a story narrated by Marge set 6 years in the past.
Homer and Marge are going to an office meeting at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and Homer promises Marge not to drink, but Lenny and Carl mixes some in his soda, making him mock Mr. Burns when carolers start singing, so he releases the Hounds and make his ice statue slide all the way to the elementary school just to be smashed by Groundskeeper Willie.
Marge invites Homer to leave the party but he asks her to wait till he filled his pants with shrimps, mayonnaise and ketchup. She grabs him and they leave on a Uber driven by Raphael. After arriving home, Marge refuses to let Homer in, and he walks around town with nowhere to go so he asks Ned Flanders to host him.
Maude is not that happy and when the night comes, Homer eats the Christmas ham, uncooked and still in the plastic and has hallucinations of Hell from a painting, while Marge and Abe discuss him.
At home, Bart and Lisa are watching a The Itchy and Scratchy Show! episode and Marge informs them he's not coming back for a while. Bart screams that he's back, but all he's seeing is a Homer snowman, which the wind destroys with crows pecking at it, scaring both kids.
At Springfield Mall, they go buy Christmas presents, and when Bart tries to buy baseball gloves for Homer, Marge reiterates Homer is not coming before Christmas, while Yes Guy tells him if she doesn't buy them she doesn't love him, but Marge retorts to him how he doesn't have a happy home life.
At Flanders house, after Homer ruined grace and teaches Rod a bad word, Maude tells him to get out, so he goes to Moe's, which walks with him till they arrive home.
The only way for Homer to get in the home is through a secret room above the garage that Moe shows him, having rented it in the past to an Irish family. On Christmas Eve, Homer decorates the room, while Bart and Lisa decided to give up all their toys for Christmas if Homer could come back.
She agrees on the condition that he has to do one thing to show all she has put up with has a point. Homer, hearing that, things of making cookies as an option, but instead burns the kitchen. He thinks he needs a miracle, and Maude delivers him one, with her breaking the waters, so he thinks the one thing could be him delivering the baby.
Rod informs her that Ned is absent, delivering Christmas turkeys to the poor, so Homer proposes to do it, while unknown to him, Marge watches from the door. She approaches him and they kiss, fixing Christmas, while Ned comes back, revealing Todd's middle name to be Homer and Maggie's is Lenny for the same reason.
In the end, In the tree house, Bart scares Rod and Todd with Grampa's dentures, while he was searching for them for a date he had that night, while Marge and Homer sneak to the secret room to kiss, but find Moe there, and Christmas postcards show the Springfield families' Christmases and gifts.
