The Child Welfare worker is a child welfare officer employed by the Department of Child Welfare in the Springfield Child Welfare Board.
History[edit]
She accompanied Officer Goodman during the investigation of the Simpson family and assisted in the removal of Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson from their parents' custody.
During the inspection of the Simpson residence, she recorded the condition of the house into a tape recorder, noting the dirty dishes, uncollected trash, cluttered living room, and stacks of old newspapers. She also discovered Maggie Simpson drinking from Santa's Little Helper's water bowl and removed her from the floor, expressing shock at the sight. After Homer and Marge returned home, the agent presented Marge with a report describing the condition of the house and later escorted the children to the Flanders residence.
The agent reassured Lisa after one of her baby teeth fell out, telling her that the county would provide her with dentures if necessary. She also warned Marge that she could be arrested when Marge attempted to prevent the removal of the children. Like Officer Goodman, she later participated in the "Family Skills" program ordered by the court.
