History[edit]

During the aftermath of the Buttzilla balloon incident at Springfield Elementary School, Principal Seymour Skinner became frustrated after realizing the helium-filled balloon could remain airborne for months. In anger, he loudly cursed Pierre Jules César Janssen, blaming the French astronomer for having “invented” helium.
