Buttzilla was a giant weather balloon altered by Bart Simpson to resemble Principal Skinner, featuring a sign that read “Hi, I’m Big Butt Skinner.”

Springfield Elementary School's Science Week ended with the launch of a weather balloon organized by Principal Seymour Skinner, who proudly described it as the school's “most propane-explosion-free science week ever.” Students gathered outside the school as Groundskeeper Willie released the balloon while Skinner praised science and encouraged enthusiasm for the event.
The celebration was disrupted when Bart Simpson revealed he had secretly attached a giant caricature of Skinner to the balloon, later nicknamed “Buttzilla.” As it rose into the sky, hidden panels unfolded showing a huge image of the principal holding a sign reading “Hi, I’m Big Butt Skinner.” The students burst into laughter, and after Skinner announced that whoever brought the balloon down would not have to learn fractions, many of the children immediately began throwing rocks at it, but without success. Skinner then ordered Groundskeeper Willie to destroy the balloon with a shotgun, but the attempt also failed, and the balloon continued drifting through the sky.
Skinner later spotted the balloon through his telescope during an early morning astronomy session and mistakenly believed he had discovered a new celestial object. After realizing it was the same mocking balloon, he chased after it and eventually managed to grab onto it as it floated close to the ground.
While Skinner was distracted recovering Buttzilla, Bart used the telescope and the observatory phone to report the discovery of a real comet. In the confusion, Skinner accidentally released the balloon again, allowing Buttzilla to continue floating away through the sky. Hours later, as the comet entered Springfield’s atmosphere and began breaking apart, one of the remaining fragments finally struck the balloon directly, destroying Buttzilla in midair shortly before the comet itself crashed into Ned Flanders' abandoned bomb shelter.
