Season 24 is the twenty-fourth broadcast season of The Simpsons. It originally ran on Fox from September 30, 2012, with "Moonshine River", to May 19, 2013, with "Dangers on a Train". The season was mostly made up of production season RABF episodes, with seven rollover episodes from production season PABF also airing. Al Jean served as the showrunner for most of the season, with Matt Selman serving as the showrunner for PABF20, RABF06, and RABF14.

Wanting to meet up with his former love Mary Spuckler, Bart goes to see her, only to find that she's run away from home. After finding that she moved to New York City, the Simpsons travel there in search of her. Meanwhile, not able to afford a Broadway show, Lisa and Marge settle for the free "Shakespeare in the Park", which doesn't go as planned.

In the opening sequence, the Mayans determine the end of the world to be in 2012. In "The Greatest Story Ever Holed", the Springfield Subatomic Supercollider creates a black hole that terrorizes the city. In "UNnormal Activity", a little unholy pact Marge made when she was younger comes back to haunt her. Finally, in "Bart & Homer's Excellent Adventure", Bart travels to 1974 to buy a comic book at cover price but inadvertently alters the timeline.

But the effect it has on Bart starts to eat at Grampa's conscience.
