Tumi is a student in the second grade at Springfield Elementary School.

When Lisa had nobody to dance with for the square dancing routine as part of the school curriculum for gym, she was initially paired by Coach Krupt with Groundskeeper Willie. However, Tumi decided to dance with her. Lisa then stated that she was from the other second grade and that they only came together for tornado drills. After the period finished, Tumi asked Lisa if she'd like to go to All Sales Vinyl, a vintage record store in Downtown Springfield, which Lisa agreed to.
