Smitty is an assistant to Montgomery Burns in a story told by Grampa.

History

In 1897, Montgomery Burns and Smitty arrived in Springfield so Burns could shoot the sheriff for letting another business open in town. Smitty gave Burns his gun, and the duel ended with Burns shooting Sheriff Homer. Smitty then told Burns that he had forgotten to say "two" in the countdown. When the townspeople chased Burns out of town, Smitty gave him a piggyback ride to escape.
