During the grand opening of Lard Lad Donuts, Homer Simpson stole the colossal donut displayed atop the restaurant's giant mascot, triggering a chain of events that led to a mysterious ionic disturbance bringing Springfield's giant advertising mascots to life. Among the mascots awakened was the giant Zip Boys display, featuring three oversized figures with enormous heads and small bodies. After coming to life, the Zip Boys left their rooftop sign and wandered through Springfield, becoming part of the destructive rampage caused by the living advertisements. The crisis ended when Springfield's residents stopped paying attention to the mascots, causing them to lose their power and collapse.[3]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Joe is a parody of Maurice "Moe" Strauss of the Pep Boys.
