GABF JABF

HABF is the eighteenth production season of The Simpsons. Al Jean served as the showrunner for the season. The episodes mostly aired in broadcast season 17 on Fox, with seven rollover episodes from the production season airing in broadcast season 18. The episodes aired from December 11, 2005 with "The Italian Bob", to November 26, 2006 with "Ice Cream of Margie (with the Light Blue Hair)".

When Homer takes charge of the Christmas service at the First Church of Springfield, he tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. Back at home, Grampa tells the story of how he lost his brother, Cyrus, and met Santa Claus after Mr. Burns shot his sleigh down. Finally, after a performance of "The Nutcracker" at Springfield Elementary, the people of Springfield sing along to the music.

When The Simpsons go to Italy to pick up a new Italian sports car for Mr. Burns, they end up in a village called Salsiccia where the residents aren't aware of the criminal past of their new mayor, Sideshow Bob, who is now married and has a son. When the Simpsons reveal who Bob is to his family, he declares a "vendetta" against them.

After a frozen mailman from the 60s is discovered, all the letters he was carrying are delivered to their destinations, including one for Mona Simpson from a man telling her about their son, which suggests Grampa might not be Homer's father. Homer seeks out Mason Fairbanks, who may be his biological father.

After a prank goes wrong and ruins the school, Bart is sent to Upward Bound behavioral camp, with Homer being made to take him before he can go to Las Vegas to meet up with his friends. Meanwhile, Marge sells expired prescription drugs in a yard sale.

When Bart enacts revenge against new gym teacher Coach Krupt, Willie's shack gets destroyed in the crossfire. The Simpson family take him in and Lisa decides to turn Willie into a proper gentleman for a school project. Meanwhile, Homer rips his favorite blue pants and starts an ambitious advertising campaign to bring the brand back.

When the Simpson family gets trapped in a cave, Lisa tells a story of how Mr. Burns told her a story about how he came to work at Moe's Tavern and how Moe told him a story about hidden treasure. In the present, a standoff between the Simpsons, Burns, Snake, and The Rich Texan over the treasure takes place.

When Marge babysits Rod and Todd, she allows them to actually have fun. But when Rod gets a minor injury, Ned is not happy with Marge going against his wishes. Meanwhile, Homer takes the kids to an animal shelter, where Bart is kidnapped by a monkey.

After Grampa blows Springfield's chance to get an NFL franchise, he becomes hated by the town and goes to an assisted suicide center. But when the center is shut down before he is euthanized, Grampa gets a new lease on life and becomes a toreador. While he becomes loved by the townspeople, Lisa becomes disappointed in him.

When the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant is moved to India, Homer becomes the only worker still employed and moves to India. When Homer gets placed in charge of the new plant, he is treated like a god by the Indian employees. Meanwhile, Patty and Selma kidnap Richard Dean Anderson of MacGyver.

After the women of Springfield criticize Principal Skinner because he thinks girls are bad at math, the school is segregated into a boys' side and a girls' side. When the teaching of evolution is made illegal in Springfield, creationism is taught in schools instead. Angered by this, Lisa holds classes on evolution in secret but gets arrested. To prove that evolution is real, the court trial calls Homer Simpson to the witness stand.

In "Married to the Blob", Homer eats green extraterrestrial goo and morphs into a rampaging blob with an insatiable appetite. In "You Gotta Know When to Golem", Bart uses a golem to enact revenge on anyone who has wronged him. In "The Day the Earth Looked Stupid," the residents of early-1930s Springfield refuse to believe news of an actual alien invasion after being duped by Orson Welles' The War of the Worlds radio broadcast.

Bart starts playing the drums after a psychiatrist suggests it as a treatment method. But Lisa gets jealous of him when he plays with jazz musicians. Meanwhile, Lisa adopts a large number of animals to get over her feelings.

When Marge takes up carpentry, she decides to become a professional carpenter, but she's not taken seriously as she's a woman. So, Homer pretends to be the one doing the work, but when he starts receiving all the credit, Marge becomes annoyed and lets him do the work himself. Meanwhile, Bart and Principal Skinner feud when they find out each other's allergies.

Homer ends up enlisting in the army when trying to get Bart's pre-enlistment contract made void. Homer and the other recruits deemed too unfit or stupid for the front line get involved in a war game in Springfield, with live ammunition being used.
