Tobias "Toby" Trivel was a cabin boy aboard the Gertrude Stein.
History
Toby Trivel was used by the crew of the Gertrude Stein to fix whirring gears, unclog small pipes, and was used as bait by the fishermen. The fishermen would throw Toby into the ocean and pull him up when a fish ate him, cutting him out of the fish. Despite this, Toby was obsessed with sea creatures and turned his cabin into an aquarium. Whilst the ship was stopped in Hong Kong, Toby found an exotic fish shop and purchased a strange looking fish which he called Colonel Sucky Mouth. He was warned by the shopkeeper that if he brought it aboard the ship, many sailors would die a horrible death. However, Toby didn't listen to her and bought the fish anyway.
Later, in Toby's cabin, Colonel Sucky Mouth began to glow green, its eyes began to pulsate then it emitted a shriek. Soon after, several sailors started dying. It turned out that Colonel Sucky Mouth's mother had been summoned by the fish, and was now killing off the crew. Toby decided to save everyone by offering himself up to the mother, which sucked the life out of him. His final words were used to ask the crew to take care of Colonel Sucky Mouth for him.
