Davy Crockett was an American frontiersman who died at the Alamo. His popularity had a resurgence in the 1950s including the catchy theme song The Ballad of Davy Crokett and coonskin caps.
History
Bart called himself Davy Crockett and then asked who he was.[1]
When Homer and Bart walked away, Patty and Selma said, "There goes Davy Crockett in his bald-skin cap," referring to Homer.[2]
After joining the Stonecutters, Homer Simpson claimed that the organization's confidential Secret World History book contained the hidden truth about the Battle of the Alamo and the death of Davy Crockett.[3]
