Admiral Nelson was renowned for his many victories against the French in the years following, such as Calvi (1794), Cape St. Vincent (1797), the Nile (1798), and finally, at Trafalgar (1805). His renowned victories gained him fame, notoriety, honor, and honors and awards. His death at Trafalgar was a huge loss for the Royal Navy, although the battle secured British naval dominance for decades.
