History

Homer watched Barney on television before the show was interrupted by Mr. Burns.^[1]

He was used by the Movementarians to brainwash babies into following The Leader.^[2]

A Barney doll was seen being carried by Milhouse Van Houten.^[3]

Barney appears in the opening sequence as a dead fossil. Altogether, he looks more like a tyrannosaurus rex, as new episodes of Barney & Friends no longer air since 2009, but reruns do air on various PBS stations.^[4]
