Zane Furlong is the former Collaborative Educational Outreacher at Springfield STEM Academy and a delivery man for Postmates.
History[edit]
Zane Woods welcomed Bart and Lisa to the new Springfield STEM Academy. At first, Bart didn't think they would get along, calling him "Skinner 2.0", but Zane put Bart in solitary, a special gaming room for him to learn and earn skins for his avatar while having fun. Zane then told Lisa that she would be in the gifted class, even though he thought every child was gifted.
Zane also taught the gifted class, where he taught the kids about algorithms, which the school ran on. Later, he held a career day at the school, which Homer attended. Homer told Zane about his job, and Zane told Homer that his job would be taken over by robots in 18 months. This caused Homer to panic about the robot revolution. After the career day, Bart told Zane that he was getting five stars in all of his classes.
When Lisa was trying to figure out why the algorithm was getting the students to train for mundane jobs, Bart stopped her. Zane then went into the server room to find Bart and Lisa arguing. Zane then looked at the algorithm to find what jobs the students would be trained for, only to find one job suggested for the future that robots wouldn't do: elder care. When Zane, Bart, and Lisa revealed this to the students, all the students gave the school low ratings, which caused the server to self-destruct. Zane grabbed Bart and Lisa and ran out of the school with them to get them to safety as it blew up.
After the destruction of the STEM Academy, Zane went to work for the delivery company Postmates, where he delivered Homer hot wings from Garbage Wings. Homer refused to tip Zane because Zane brought celery sticks with the meal.[1]
Zane Furlong was in the audience for Tabitha Shingle's live recording of her podcast Interminable.[2]
