Kofi wore a shirt with a picture of Huey P. Newton on it. When Carl traded his belt buckle with Kofi for a new outfit, Kofi gave Carl his outfit, including the shirt. When on a date with Naima, Naima asked Carl if he was a fan of the Black Panthers. After mistaking the Black Panthers for the Marvel character Black Panther, Carl Googled Huey P. Newton for information on him.
