Charles Lindbergh, also known as Lucky Lindy, was an American pilot who in 1927 flew the Spirit of St. Louis from Long Island, New York to Paris, France in the first solo, nonstop transatlantic flight.

History[edit]

After Bart defeated Nelson in the Springfield Soapbox Derby Race, the commentator said the world had not seen the likes of this since the French carried Lucky Lindy off on their shoulders from Le Bourget Field.[1]

In 1927, just as he was about to depart from Long Island on his historic flight, Charles Lindbergh grabbed Mr. Burns' childhood teddy bear, Bobo, out of the water to take with him and later threw Bobo into the cheering Parisian crowd, where it was grabbed by Adolf Hitler.[2]
