"Three Dreams Denied" is the seventh episode of season 32 of The Simpsons and the six-hundred and ninety-first episode overall. It originally aired on November 22, 2020. Synopsis

"Comic Book Guy gets humiliated at Comicalooza when he loses the question he plans to ask at a panel. Bart becomes a voice actor for the show Cookie Castle, but when it turns out he's voicing a female character, he gets bullied. Meanwhile, Lisa loses out on first chair in the school band to a new student, Blake."


Plot

At his shop, Comic Book Guy searches for a way to buy tickets to San Diego's Comicalooza when Agnes arrives with a cart full of Skinner's toys, including a high-priced Radioactive Man toy, which he sells for $3,400 on MeBay. The next day, Skinner comes to reclaim it, but it is too late.

At Springfield Elementary, Lisa meets a new kid, Blake, who also plays the saxophone. Dewey Largo announces that the session will decide whether Lisa keeps or loses her role in the band. It was previously known as The Voice Actor's Apprentice. It was previously scheduled for 2021.[1]

In the interview to TV Insider showrunner Al Jean said: "Ben Platt plays a sneaky untalented kid who succeeds when he doesn't deserve to, so, not himself,". Blake, who casts a spell over Lisa. The fellow musician will have her crushing hard, but there's more to Blake than meets the eye.[2]

Reception

"Three Dreams Denied" was nominated for a 2021 Writers Guild of America award in Animation, but it lost to "Xerox of a Xerox" from BoJack Horseman.[3]
