When Homer was telling Mindy Simmons that they should avoid each other, he said he was "sweating like Roger Ebert."[1]
The marquee at the Aztec Theater had his and Gene Siskel "Two Thumbs Up" quote underneath Siskel and Ebert: The Movie.[2]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
In real life, Ebert wrote movie reviews for the Chicago Sun-Times for 47 years. He died on April 4, 2013, from complications from throat cancer, which he had for more than 11 years.
