The Star of Ankara is a Turkish freighter. It's name is a reference to Turkey's capital city, Ankara.
History[edit]
Bart and Lisa accidentally crashed Homer's RV onto the ship, while they were trying to take it back to the dealership. The ship's captain let Homer and Marge onboard the ship so they could get Bart, Lisa and the RV.
According to the captain, the ship was hauling DVDs of the first season of Northern Exposure to Kahramanmaraş, despite the fact that the city was completely land-locked.
