A man at Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con was dressed as Groot, whilst walking Rocket Raccoon.[1]
Steve Fishbein was sitting in the same aisle as Comic Book Guy on the plane to San Diego, dressed as Groot. He said Groot's catchphrase, "I am Groot." When a flight attendant came along with a Kosher meal for "Steve Fishbein", The man dressed as Groot said "I am Steve Fishbein." At Comicalooza, several other people were also dressed as Groot.[2]
Stan wore a Groot costume to the theater.[3]

Guardians of the Galaxy was seen playing at a drive-in theater. The Living treehouse saw the film playing and got annoyed at people laughing at brain-damaged tree when Groot appeared and said "I am Groot".[5]

A man and child were dressed as Groot at Cartoon Con.[7]
